Thread regarding Pioneer Natural Resources Co. layoffs

Facilities Group Outsourced

Bent over backwards for this company and they totally screwed us. Outsourced our positions to another company and now we have to interview with the new company and no severance package. Take the new job which is less pay and less benefits or end up with nothing. I have lost all respect for this company. A very well slap in the face after being to help with the Covid pandemic and displaying on the hall monitor how much you appreciate us. Yeah right

Who's his next target? He might be ready for a new luxury sports car?

Making Pioneer service departments contractors hasn't worked well unless you read the press release version of the story. The old Hanover Compressor was also a great place until MB did what he does, strip it, cut it, (and don't talk to the affected employees).

Shared Services will be cut, no reason to keep full-time employees when an outsider can do it for one charge and be gone.

Thankfully what felt like an unfair offer to some facilities people, there are some big lawyers that agree. Don’t sign!!!

Facilities got the worst deal of the bunch! I don't know of anyone else that got a worse deal. About same hourly pay, expenses go up a minimum of $500 per month, for some triple the amount. All benefits are worse. Most would have rather taken a package. Very biased compared to other departments.

Pioneer used to feel like a family. By giving members of our family no severance while announcing more than a year salary severance package for everyone else is disrespectful to all of us. We are steadily loosing that family feeling that makes working here so great every time we act as a family never would. All families go through tough times. Only dysfunctional ones treat each other like this.

I worked in the Facilities department for years under the old and new management. Departmental morale has been a chronic problem, and worsening daily. In 2018 a flourish of anonymous questionnaires and surveys were sent to the employees. The hope was to determine why the morale was so bad. I heard the results were so horrid they could not be published, it was bad line management and no defined career advancement In 2018 they brought in a REORG guru. He spent weeks in LCO he made numerous trips. He filled while boards with charts, org charts, job descriptions. On the last days the managers came to LCO behind closed doors and selected their best people to fill the slots, the others goners. Before much could be implemented the 2019 Lay-offs hit. The current outsourcing is coming from the carpeted offices EVPs, they believe that the facilities department could not wet mop a floor, construct anything that works, conduct PM, or run complicated utilities. The Facilities Department has become a DEATH HOUSE FOR Careers, motivation is frowned on, advancement path NONE, and it s—s your very soul. If you see a Facilities person today, GIVE THEM A HUG AND A DOLLAR. They are suffering greatly

It is like 10 survivors out of the whole department, the balance are now X PXDer's. What ever happened to the departmental surveys, the questionnaires, and the TOP SECRET REORG specialist that came to LCO. He spend weeks there and made multiple trips, filled white boards with grand diagrams, Org charts, and managers picked their best teams. The employees were told this would result in a clear path in career progression, job satisfaction, and a burst to department morale, which had been lagging of late. Unfortunately, the Facilities department is suffering from a profound and chronic hangover from the previous management. The carpeted Office EVP boys believe that Fac. cannot manage a wet mop let alone complex water systems, utilities, budgets, and program maintenance. Sad because the people that will pay the heaviest price were not connected with the fouls of the past 10 years. This place has become a death house for careers, ambitions, advancement, the loss of your very soul. IF YOU SEE A FAC DEPT PERSON GIVE THEM A HUG AND A DOLLAR.

“bent over backwards for this company” a.k.a complaining about those grabbing two cookies, griping about folks parking, acting like the world was ending when people went to mco to eat, flipping out when employees hung things on the wall in their office, the list goes on & on. Good riddance.

I appreciate the people that took care of the facilities I worked in. I feel for them as this is a life changing event for them. I was always greeted with a smile and they did an awesome job of keeping up with maintenance & cleaning. You are appreciated and may you come away from this better off.

You guys act like facilities was making pioneer money. Don’t whine about it. They’re getting rid of departments that aren’t needed. Plain and simple.

That's exactly what they are doing. C&W will offer everyone a package within 90% of the salary range to keep Pioneer from having to pay out packages.

I think it’s tough to say to someone move on when the culture promoted and demanded such loyalty! PNR prided it’s self on never laying off, paying well above the rest and rewarded for good old boy mentality! Well now the good old boys are getting shafted! It’s a kick in the nuts for sure!

It’s a business decision. It’s part of life. Take care of yourself and move on. Pioneer cares about Pioneer. That’s every company in the world. Crying about it doesn’t do anything to change it.

I feel the same way. I was very loyal, I would get offers from other employers from time to time and I always said no because I only wanted to be at Pioneer. The people I worked with worked great together, tried hard, and were making a difference.
Like you said, Pioneer commended our effort but has basically said, we appreciate you and continue the commendable work, we want you to stay, BUT you will work for a different employer with lower benefits, less vacation, and no bonus or incentives!
Also, although the severance package looks good, in reality it is almost impossible to get. If Pioneer gives us incentives to stay for a year, are they also giving C&W incentives to match pay so they don't have to pay a bonus if they don't meet within 10% of our salary?
