Thread regarding IBM layoffs

You can join the EEOC claims

I see people posting on various boards, as they signed the docs, which means they cannot join a Class Action, can they file with the EEOC? The answer is absolutely YES. This is the Federal Government. Secondly, this is not a Class Action. The more people that file claims against IBM, the more the EEOC will be pressured to bring a Federal Lawsuit, should this (negotiation) not succeed:

"Having determined that there is reason to believe that violations have occurred, the Commission
now invites Respondent to join with it in an effort toward a just resolution of this matter"

Filing is easy and all online

@7hrk - Maybe. You won't know unless you try. Read https://www.wraltechwire.com/2020/09/16/lawyer-representing-laid-off-ibmers-hails-feds-discrimination-ruling-former-employees-can-still-join-a-lawsuit/ and take action.

Can you still join the EEOC even if you accepted the paltry hush money they offered at termination?

OP and @4fpv - thank you for the info and link. I urge everyone who suspects age discrimination in their situation to file a complaint with the EEOC and join the lawsuit. I believe these are two separate but related actions.

Just submitted my complaint this morning. Interview is scheduled for December to go over the facts I’m presenting.

FYI-I saw that there is a time limit (I think 180 days) to open an inquiry, so don’t waste time.

Can you please provide a link to where we can get more into and/or sign up. I saw in one article that it's for people laid off up until 2018. What if we got hit in 2019/2020 - are we still part of this? Thanks.
