Agree completely with the list of execs that need to go. What a worthless collection of “leaders”. While you’re cleaning house don’t forget that feckless finance group out of Hartford or our favorite horse loving SVP.

I left Optum tech as I was sensing the ax sooner or later; I landed a decent job outside and am thankful that I left when I could.

Regarding some of the Optum tech leaders named in this thread; the people who need to go:
1) Matt Mosher : has delivered nothing of consequence in the past few years despite the fact that he was leading the Optum data group
2) Rick Bernard : I give him credit for evangelizing "agile" within PEDS but again has not delivered much beyond that.
3) The IT executives they brought in from Target: these guys are good technologists but have little to no idea about healthcare and how to transform healthcare using technology.

Unless, the Optum Tech executive leadership clearly articulate what they want and what is there short term, medium term and long term plan; the middle management will keep doling out half-baked solutions of little value.

Finally, Senior Management need to wake up, the TLCP program is a joke, the youngsters who join the program are using Optum to learn and move on.

100000% True. "Proof of concept" over and over and over again. Typical baby boomer "leadership". If one looks at their prior employment, they did basically nothing other than endless meetings, smiling, and cheerleading sessions to the employee dolts. They only appear to do things. It's illusions of work. Busy theatre. Boomer clowns.

Optum tech is run by people who fail upwards. Nothing of meaning is ever delivered. It's proof of concept after proof of concept. What's worse is the people delivering this sh– are rewarded huge bonuses to deliver the company technical debt. The real work was done 10 years ago and the people who delivered this value are long gone. These "leaders" have no vision or ability to execute. Just look at their previous employment. Some of these C suite folks have been in their position for years without any detectable improvements.

Look at their container platform churn (Openshift > origin > kubernetes). Look at the crust that's built up around VMs. Look at these half baked home grown solutions.

Optum Tech is a vendor's wet dream.

John Santelli needs to go.

Rick Bernard needs to go.

James Franke needs to go.

Mouli Venkatesan needs to go.

Kerri Holley needs to go.

Matthew Schilts needs to go.

Todd Hauschildt needs to go.

Keith Tanski needs to go.

Chad Walker needs to go.

Mike Tessmer really, really needs to go.

The list goes on and on. The only was to make Optum Technology great is to get rid of these old fashioned leaders. Their time has come to let new people to truly modernize this backwards and truly dysfunctional technology organization.

Never worked with a more technically inept group in my life. To a person they have been there for decades and work like it. So many VPs Directors, Senior managers etc... and their CEO Sir Andy Witty went to work for the corrupt WHO? These people are stupid. The leading health organization in America got played by their NWO CEO?? Unreal!

What will those legacy folks do? duhvita and health partners etc...all that boomer and gen x dancing singing cheerleading corporate propaganda –for what? They were played. And the sadder thing is, they gleefully participated in getting played. They believed that corporate US BS. How pathetic. Enjoy the sinking ship. All that love, loyality, patriotic nonsense-for what? Making the owners/partners get another mansion?

Hopefully reducing administrators in the tech ops and reporting group that adds no value but just gives orders and templates
