Thread regarding ExxonMobil Corp. layoffs

GRS1 worth the extra headcount?

Sites with GRS1 implemented see any major benefit offsetting the 40% increase in headcount?
Business Teams that used to operate lean and mean with one SLS now have 2 or more SLS, R/M/T leads

Seems like the org is top heavy

Lol! It’s so fckd in Baytown! The nepotism there is so blatant I’m shocked HR let’s it happen.
How many more SLS’s kids will be hired soon from the Mt. Belvieu area.
Good old boys are alive and well.

GRS1 is trash. Business teams have become too bureaucratic and top heavy. Most second lines are kids that have limited practical experience and are just middle people. Bad communication and a disconnect between decision makers and actual PMT technical staff. Everyone stays in their roles for 1-2 years and never become useful which just wastes everyone’s time. This include second lines who barely did anytime in technical roles but got to where they are by crying to become “managers”. That’s basically all it takes to becomes a leader here. Then these same mediocre second lines lay off their technical staff who keep everything together exacerbating the operations issues. It’s like this company can’t even get base business right anymore. It’s a joke to all experienced hires.

@ikn+16XSRnXt - Baytown sounds like CSR (not GRS1), and I worked in Clinton.

Baytown is just a cluster fck and evidence of everything that is wrong with EM.

Absolutely. More headcount and less reliability. 30 years ago management made good decisions without GRS because they were good managers.
