Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Why don't you have more cashiers?

The whole foods in my area has two cashiers on duty and huge lines. It's been like this for a couple months. Is this typical?

The fact that we waited so long for self checkout hurt our busniness. My local supermarket has had them for over 15 years. Mackey is a ludite.

Nothing wrong with self checkout WF continues to struggle getting employees anyway.

Self checkouts are being installed in new stores. That is a much better use of registers than having a whole bunch of standard registers that never get used. Many people prefer to use self checkout when it is available.

Why hire more people if you can do it with less? Its all about money not about what's ethical or practical nobody cares if you are happy. I'm not saying I'm for what goes on but its a business at the end of the day. Go to Walmart or target they have more registers but they don't open all of them up even when the store is busy.

Yes , every team in the building is understaffed because Amazon cuts labor so drastically, Amazon is slowly k–ling whole foods and just turning it into a delivery hub.
