Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

We Need Hazard Pay

Verizon has 6 billion to buy Trac phone but no money to continue to pay there front line workers. They say we are essential but cut the essential pay the first week of July. We are still wearing masks doing the same job with longer hours then when we got the hazard pay. It makes no sense we are still dealing with the same risk factor actually its higher. We work Sundays now more hours & more days .

@4kho+16XkLtxe This is what i have to say to you. You are not compelled or held at gun point to live in NYC. You are not compelled or held at gun point to work for Verizon. No one is keeping you there and no one is keeping you at Verizon. I have moved from Allen Town PA to LA to Denver to Orlando for better jobs and better pay. You have the freedom to do the same thing. So stop your complaining, stop demanding better pay and get off your fat-a$$ and go find a job with better pay that will allow you to live where you want. In my case I opened my own company and I employee 17 people and we are doing very well thank you very much! BTW it was working at Verizon Wireless that gave me the idea and the ability to create my own company. Unlike you, I am thankful for Verizon's opportunity! So stop your baby tears and get out there and do something useful for once! Only f00lish idi0ts sit around and complaining, smart people move on and make something of themselves.

If wages were higher the workers would be able to afford to live in NYC.

If verizon had a heart they would let everyone transfer to New Jersey so they can work closer to home.

If you gave the company bad reviews on the pulse survey, your group is being targeted.

Lol.. negotiated by the Union.. I think it was more, it was the company said and the Union did, just like the contract negotiations... I was told by my Union executives they don’t like the home garaging, but here we are... lol... and if that was the case, why are we home garaging but yet no hazard pay? Wake up, start asking questions... Paying very high dues for what? How come the Union doesn’t give its members hazard pay?

Hazzard pay and home garage was negotiated by the union.

Verizon should of given only the wireless groups the hazard pay. Hazard pay was not part of the Union contract that was agreed upon. Also Union workers with vehicles should be compelled to take their vehicles back to the barn as taking them home also was not part of the Union contract. We are told time and time and time that Unions are the best, they look out for the employees. So why are all you Union workers at Verizon violating your own contract by accepting hazard pay and taking your vehicle home? Please give your Hazard pay back to the company and garage your vehicles at the office.

Home garaging forever, or at least the next 6 years then I’m tapping out. I would be so happy not to go back into the garage, won’t have to see the Union sheep, especially in the upcoming election..Vote, Vote, but vote for what the Union says.... OMG, please extend the home garaging, will even pick up half the gas and tolls...

This home garaging is saving some employees up to 600$ or more a month on gas and tolls... Now that’s a perk !!

Union workers should not be allowed to home garage their work vehicles. This is a perk that ALL wireless side is allowed to do. OH wait, the wireless side is NOT union! How can this be that the wireless engineers get to home garage and the union side was not! WOW how did that happen as we are told over and over union labor is better! So all you union workers at Verizon, take your vehicles back to the garage and stop crying about not having hazard pay. No one is getting hazard pay anymore and you should thank Verizon for even giving it in the first place. This is the problem with Union workers, they are never happy or never satisfied with anything the company does for them, it's 100% us VS. the company. What a bunch of thankless M0rons!

Hazard pay, for what exactly? And just curious, why are you still home garaging? The Union is a funny group of people, they cry about losing hazard pay, but will help the company with home garaging .... stop the crying and just do your job.

I work for Verizon we are required to wear a mask at work . Customers are also required to wear mask in our store. My store was closed for 5 months and reopened on 7/1. Alot of sales reps are going to telesales because of the new commission structure.

Maybe that's why no one's sick at work?

Lol, wearing masks at work? If you're still wearing a mask, despite NO ONE being sick, that's on you.

They actually don't have $6 billion to buy Tracphone. Going into this deal they already had $117 billion in debt.

Imagine maxing out all your credit cards, putting 5% down on a million dollar home and then going out and buying a Ferrari on credit. Its like that.

From what I’ve seen almost all companies have cut hazard pay. It was for in the beginning to make companies look good when only a few places were open and that is no longer the case in much of the US.

Volunteered how can you volunteer if you are still on the clock . If you are not on the front line and responding from your couch move on to the next post . If you are not an essential worker you can move on to the next post this is for essential workers. You definitely cant relate go eat dinner or something.
