Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

Be honest

Do you think the damage Randy and now Stankey have done to this company can ever be reversed?

I believe that we're never going to be able to go back to our glory days, but at the same time I believe that things can certainly improve. All we need is somebody competent at the helm.

I think that management appointed persons who were their "good buddies" to the board of directors.
So the only way real change can be made is to have a proxy fight, and replace all of them.

In my organization L1 thru L3 is clueless and have no background in the business. They ALL came from other areas of the business and are basically just winging it or doing exactly what they’re told to do by senior management. Processes are constantly changing with zero improvement. It’s the old adage where, “The more things change, the more they stay the same!”

The glory days of the past cannot be replicated. And, there will be no glory days in the future if the same C-suite stays. The present C-suite is just as guilty of the past failures, they were just not as publicly visible as they are now.
At the same time, most of the people that know how to get things done have left.
Is the C-suite going to fire itself?
So.. No, not sure I see glory days ahead....

No, I don't think we will ever go back to the glory days. I also believe we cannot fully recover in all the areas of damage. We can improve and fix much of what they destroyed; however, we will look and act differently. We must keep at it, to make the right kinds of change, and tack the sail as we go. We must truly stick to a plan and visit it often to revisions as we move forward. We must listen to our customers’ needs. We've been down that road, we just didn't listen, make the right changes and that must stop. I do not believe we will get there under the current 'new' leaderships’ direction. Another R&R of that cast of people needs to occur, before we can fully recover as a newly reinvented company that can once again rule the roost, something like we did in the past.

You guys all think like working class lackey's,concerned about long term viability of a company ... executive class folks think in quarters and years because that's how they fill their golden parachutes...

With that said don't worry about T they are in a Cash cow business and will do quite well regardless.

The first thing that has to happen to reverse the downward trend is to stop making the same decisions that got you in the mess to begin with. I don't see that happening. The strategy and product offerings are fine, just ask the executives and board.

Did Morgan Stanley Analysts, and the CWA blessed these past mergers?
Where are they now?
Like a puppy chasing its tail, Traders, & CEO'S often chase 'the next big thing', even if that means buying 'story stocks' without revenue, let alone profit. Unfortunately, high risk investments often have little probability of ever paying off, and many investors pay a price to learn their lesson, as The human capital is not part of this equation.

With every passing day, with Ratty, Stinky, Zucher and the Board of Misdirectors present milking the cash out of T, the less likely it can be saved.

This is like the Early 2000's at classic-T before SBC bought it up. It was on the verge of going under. The current T will be sold off bit by bit, for a shiny penny on the Dollar. But in a way that permits Ratty and Stinky and the others to line their pockets to the max and keep the corporate jets for as long as possible.
