Merchandiser Pay raise????

There is sooooooo much that goes into merchandising at Sams club from OYI, stocking and a million more things. We definitely need a pay raise for all we do. At least $16 or $17 in my opinion.

Are you aware that your club does around 15000 in sales a day? Even with profit loss due to damaged product they could easily afford to pay more. Especially with the panic shopping. Your obviously either a lead or a manager or just a p-ss-d off id–t. I do my job. I should get paid more. End of story. Your an id–t. I can get paid more for cooking at kfc without stressing my body physically. How bout this, you grab a pallet Jack, grab a pallet which weighs a ton, pull the thing 50 yards, then restack it to spec and see if you feel fine at 11 bucks an hour. They can afford to pay us more.

Would I love a raise absolutely! But the pay is now is decent for retail in my area(though still not living wage but thats more of an America thing) and the fact that club pickup, cashiers make more then me means I will totally avoid helping out the front end I used to be called to the front end all the time help with club pickup, help run register, (even help COS a few rare time because I have done that before so they just gave me managment numbers and where like okay go for it) so I dont have to do that is it physically demanding yep tylenol is my daily friend but I dont stress so whatever. I was management at Gamestop last year part time and made $9 an hour, I did COS for $12 and loathed it. I mean I do alot stock shelves, pallets, zone, price changes, assist members with questions on electronics, jewellery, and whatever else, fold clothes and more so I do alot and would love a raise but at the same I dont really stress about it because I am mentally checked out. I tell them I will worry more if you pay me more

Think of the poor advantages coordinator. They are making only $12 a hr. At our club they can stay in that position with no raise. When they leave the job is gone.

Cashier: I can not lift all this heavy stuff all day long. It is so boring to stand around all day. I can do the merch role better than anyone.

( Cashier gets coded to Merchandiser(C) )

Merchandiser(C): I can not lift all this heavy stuff all day long. I want to stand around all day like cashiers. I can cashier better than anyone.

They gave a limitied number a forklift drivers a raise to 15 an hour so I cannot see they moving merchandisers to 15 maybe 13 or 14 but not 15. I think everyones pay will eventually be bumped up but it will be in phases.

So you are doing the job that you were hired to do. Maybe if you put your energy into helping in other areas, as per your job description, you might get out of your self imposed hell and make the money YOU think you deserve.

As far as having to fine a place to put the merchandise, it is on the store plan not from your delicate brain.

Maybe we should all pitch in and buy you a plastic trophy too.....

I am a merchandiser and I deal with assisting members all day long. To say that a merchandiser is directed on where to put merchandise is b.s. Not only do we do the heavy lifting, zoning and such but we also are pulled to cover breaks up front. Everyone deserves a raise.

Working the merchandiser job requires what special skills? You have the information on where to put the merchandise, you open the box, put it on the shelf and hopefully put the empty box in the bailer. Most of the time you don't have to interact with the members you all seem to take breaks at the same time and when your services are needed you seem to have a way to hide. Some of you do have to have the skill to drive the forklift and for that I can see a bit of an increase in the hourly wage. Maybe if you all would stop complaining about something that doesn't apply to your job skills and do the job you are paid to do you might be able to move into a better paying job.

And for the rest of you who did get a raise, you no doubt have additional responsibilities and are having to deal with the membership directly, sometimes it can be really difficult and hard to keep your cool. Please remember that those members are the people who pay for you being there and the provide the paycheck every two weeks. If everyone gets a raise then the prices will have to go up which means less money being spent, hiring freezes, shortened hours and smaller paychecks.

Do your job, show up when you are scheduled and quit complaining.
