Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

How much did Ted Stein Senior Director pay for Bubba Wallace to speak today?

How much did Senior Director Ted Stein pay for Bubba Wallace to come spout social justice to hundreds of Cisco employees? How many jobs could have been saved from that speaking fee?

More tone deaf "leadership" while we hear nothing but "cost cutting".

Compete? Cisco doesn't have performance reviews.

Cisco exploits immigrants based on their caste. Managers control an immigrants path to citizenship, and are utilizing that to by-pass first world labor laws. Wake up. Cisco transformed into a morally bankrupt company.

Another thread of whining babies who instead of using their efforts to look for improvement and finding a new job, come here to blame others - women, people of colours, foreigners. Welcome to the new world where you actually have to compete instead of getting promoted just for showing up and being a white dude. How is capitalism working for you? Cry me a river.

This whole Bubba Wallace is mindblowing how press twisted it, The garage puller was there for so long and usually it is a small noose. My home also has it. How can he say someone put it and blow out of propotion. And a tech company like Cisco inviting him.

Even today in leader checkin Fran was smiling all the way when discussing the cost cuts and LR. Is it is a reality show we are going through

Pandemic, massive unemployment, and Cisco outsourcing more jobs... lets invite a Nascar driver to give a talk. Are you kidding me?

Such a shame a Grade 8 will lose their job to pay for this. The lack of awareness and empathy is unbelievable.

@fed+16Y4AsGS There is no systemic bias against women........if you are a woman in tech right now, you are golden and have no excuses. Older white guys are the biggest target (and have been for the past 5 years).

Ted Stein is a truly fabulous human. He has done more community service and philanthropic good than anybody I know. That is why he is able to pull a celebrity..

This Ted Stein guy sounds like a real mo–n. Was he also a former used car salesman?

Ted Stein paid NOTHING for Bubba Wallace to come speak. Ted has fantastic relationships and uses them wisely in this financially strained time to bring inspiration to his team.

And Bubba was kind enough to open up about Coronavirus, depression, his mentors/idols, his experiences, and how he continues to stay motivated.

Unfortunately, too many people post without knowing facts.

People on this board are so out of touch. Cisco is filled with used car salesmen and politicians. This money was never intended to be used for r&d or saving jobs. Work at Amazon or Tesla if you care about r&d.

Work at Cisco if you care about politics and sales.

Folks - this is not addressing the issue of WHY this suddenly is an issue with Bubba Wallace and not the other people Ted has had on his bi-monthly talks - but the cost WAS ZERO. Crazy thing here folks - when you actually have done something in the world and have reach out into the community - you can use your network to get people to come speak to Cisco for FREE. Other folks Ted has had on these calls - Mark Cuban, Carl Eschenbach, and Thai Lee - total cost to Cisco - STILL ZERO YOU MISERABLE TROLL.

For an hour I got to take a breather from Cisco - and think about something other than the grind. With all the c-ap going on in the world - Bubba's honesty that he suffers from depression - and that by being open about it and letting folks know - his community responded and helped him get back on his feet - great message.

I am sure he has experienced racism in the NASCAR circuit, sure, but to be honest here, Cisco is a pretty inclusive environment these days, but I am also sure there are still some bad apples here and there. Overall, paying him to speak was an absolute waste of money that could have been better spent on saving jobs or, gasp, research and development of what is starting to become stagnant products.
