It's just downright painful to go to work these days. The waiting is really dragging everybody down. Any so called efficiency is more than shot now. Nobody's smiling, nobody's enthused, nobody cares, nobody knows if they will have a job tomorrow. Very depressing. Just get it over with, would you please? I think I'll call in sick tomorrow.

Don’t drink the Kool Aid; there will be more layoffs right before the holidays & shutdown. More easier to cowardly make a person disappear.
Although I didn’t see it coming, I feel like as if I got sprung from prison. It’s like the other person said - no one smiles, no one cares, emails are scathing; Product Managers doing data entry work in common seller tools instead of being strategic. More like filling out trouble tickets to get anything done by another group all day long. I look at pics on my phone from former events and no one is happy like that anymore. Not in the least:
Wish tell dell was open now. After no raise, no promotions, no 401k match, and btw were laying off a ton of people right in your face. Which is probably worse than just being secretive about it. Feels like those left don’t seem engaged. Up next bonuses to be gone.
For most large company they usually have a wave or two within a few days then do a 'damage control' meeting/email. Dell is handling rather poorly. The announcement was vague and open ended. I dont know why they would think that is a winning and humane strategy. It is just downright poorly executed.
I heard it could continue through November. Certain groups are being asked to fill out questionnaires listing what they spend their time on, each day. Now, that's motivational... not.
Do you know if it’s only this week or will lay offs continue next week as well?
