Retiree Pr-scrip-ion Insurance Coverage

Is anyone else having trouble with AT&T updating their records to reflect that retirees have pr-scrip-ion coverage?

Since retiring in March 2020 with more than 30 years of NCS with AT&T, I have had recurring problems with AT&T updating their records with CVS to show I have pr-scrip-ion coverage. Presently, I cannot get my pr-scrip-ions filled because the local CVS pharmacy says I have no coverage.

Many times, I have called the AT&T Benefit Office #877-722-0020 and been transferred to CVS. CVS says their records show I do not have coverage; then, they transfer me back to AT&T. AT&T repeatedly does NOT answer the telephone and disconnects.

AT&T never fails to promptly take the insurance premium directly from my bank account.

How do I get AT&T to update their records so that I can get my pr-scrip-ions?

Why not use Walgreens or Wal-Mart instead of CVS for pr-scrip-ions? I originally thought that my Caremark Pr-scrip-ion plan could only be filled at CVS, I learned about 1 year ago that I can use any pharmacy. If CVS is not honoring your pr-scrip-ion plan as it should, try another pharmacy.

Hmm. I was surplus'd in March '19 and met MR-75 (retiree) as a management (level) employee. I assume you meet MR-75. Before separation, I made an appointment with the benefits center and selected my medical/dental/vision plan and provided bank account info and there is a monthly deduction on the 1st of every month for the silver dental I chose for this year (I went bronze for medical), and I think eyemed is the same few dollars anyway. There was supposed an option of deduction from your pension plan but I was going to roll that over anyway so didn't want that. So the only thing I can think of is to go back to the Benefits Center and ask to speak with a supervisor if the front line can't help.

I don't know that it's really an "AT&T thing", it may be between AON and BCBS (for example) but if they are taking the monthly draw, you should have the plan you selected. And I believe CVS/Caremark is the defacto Pr-scrip-ion source for all (I don't know).

Maybe I'm missing something, but pre-medicare retirees have a health plan handled by a health company like United Health, Aetna, BCBS or Cigna, and a pr-scrip-ion plan handled by Caremark, in my case.
If you're 65 or older, a retiree arranges for health, dental, vision and pr-scrip-ion coverage through AON.
I'm looking at the last book issued Oct 2019, and it says pr-scrip-ions are Caremark for pre-Medicare. If you're 65 or older and don't have pr-scrip-ion coverage, you didn't do what you are supposed to do with AON.
If you were previously represented, then maybe the Union's health coordinator can help. I had a snafu once, and they straightened it out right away. All these naysayers about the Union, I just go "yeah right".

Maybe it’s because you can’t spell pr-scrip-ion.

Take AT&T to court. It won't cost you much, but by God it will get their attention. AT&T notices when they get legal docs to appear in court.

CVS is just BAD. Nothing good at anything they do. Perfect match for AT&T.

There is a closed group you should join on Facebook, that is for AT&T Retirees, where 1,000 can instantly help answer and provide quality guidance to your question. The downside, it's Facebook.
