As frustrating as the communications about “exciting” times can be and the contradicting communications about timelines I’m not sure why people are complaining. If you don’t want to be with the company anymore then I’m sure you’ve been looking at jobs and have realized a pandemic isn’t the best time to be unemployed and searching for a job. The timeline got delayed, which was transparently communicated today... that means you have a paycheck and steady income for longer than initially communicated. LinkedIn and Uber recently let go of employees, as well as several other major companies. Do you think they got 60 day notifications? No. The answer is is no. If they saw this thread about 60 day notifications being delayed, 2 weeks of severance for every year of service worked... they would wish they were in our shoes. There’s no right way to do these things, people will be upset and complain either way, but I guarantee if anyone of you were told in the middle of a pandemic that you have one more week of work and you’re done you’d be complaining how unethical that is too. We have it a lot better than a lot of others right now. It’s all about perspective.
It was in response to a common theme here that Allstate is looking for ways to cut the severance package. While people will be laid off, the separation package will be at least what it has been in the past with some additions. So "heck no"... Allstate isn't looking for ways to cut severance. We may disagree with the timeline, executive pay, or reasons for doing it, but we aren't being treated any worse than every other large, publicly traded company treats its employees... and in many cases, better. I'll step away now and wait await the allegations that I'm a home office poster (I'm not)
What question was that? While I am concerned my job might go away, I didnt think he wasnt forthcoming with what he was able to say?
Oh but give them grace and forgiveness as they do it the Allstate way and drag this out for months as they sit on their nice big paychecks.
