Sounds like I am in the minority, but I’ve appreciated having the extra time to prepare, if the worst happens. It’s enabled me to get organized and start a job search that I otherwise wouldn’t have started.

They can take their meetings and shove them up their collective asses!
They made their lay-off announcement too soon. I would have preferred 60 days notice. I can move on, make future plans and start the process of getting over it. This is just unnecessarily cruel.
Our definition of transparency seems to be different, nothing new being communicated and the anxiety of what is to come has gone from weeks to months. Totally frustrated with the communications and it's almost like they are smirking in their delivery.
I find them to be pretty useless and as of yesterday quite frankly, condescending. They clearly made this lay-off announcement in June prematurely and they know it. Covering up their mistakes by patting themselves on the back and praising themselves for being “transparent” just adds insult to injury. I would have preferred just finding out I’m being laid off with 60 days notice rather than living with constant stress and uneasiness for who knows how long.
They talk about transparency and then deliver the absolute opposite. Nothing shared was new news. Just retrenching the same old BS.
I do not have any confidence in the hatchet man delivering the news and leading this great company any longer. The Good Hands are no longer lead by Good Hands. The employees are all pawns and they are playing checkers!
Like all other meetings at Allstate, could have been condensed to quarter or half the time, could have been sent in an email, and needs less wanking. Its very tone deaf with the current situation.
