Associate Death Policy

If an associates die. Do we get held accountable for going to the funeral. A associate past away last week, an we went to the funeral. Next thing we know we got held accountable. WTH is that!!!! Sam’s needs to have a policy to where if an associate die. Please have some Respect... Are we just a number!!! Totally upset!!!

Boils down to greed. The company has a 25000 life insurance policy on you. So if everyone took off for the funeral that money would dry up fast.

we had a guy die on over nights. Had a heart attack while stocking. Management told us he died at the hospital. We had to finish our shift as if nothing happened. Moral of the story? Get over it and get back to work.

That’s why I don’t go above an beyond anymore. For what!!!! Some Sam’s Club Managers don’t care. They don’t realize we all have a family just like them. I seen a lot at my Club, an I just don’t understand how some Managers became Managers. All these Managers does is sit in the office with the door shut for hours, eating ,talking an laughing. They should be a Policy of Respect for an Associate that past away. At least 1 day for the funeral that’s if any associate wants to go. Totally Agree 100%

They do that because they're afraid that if they let everybody off when somebody in middle management died, the line to pee on the grave would be so long that you'd miss more than 1 shift.

Our club brings in associates from another club to cover so the coworkers of the deceased are able to show respect. We also spend a ton on food for the get together afterwards.

They should have a Policy where associates should have a day where we show respect for our co-workers for the Funeral. Atleast honor them an respect his or her family. It’s very heart breaking to know if your mother, father sister or brother work for a Company that doesn’t care. Ho we need a Policy to let the associates who want to attend the funeral an better consider it approve. What you’re talking about happened at my Club.

Accountability is really nothing more than a buzzword nowadays for “you did something I didn’t like”
