Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Prime shoppers

Anyone else’s store hiring tons of shoppers but no Team members for the departments? My store gets destroyed by Prime and not enough help to fill up the aisles. When will someone recognize that we need a balance. So sick of hearing the word headcount and you have what you need to get the job done. In the NA Region all that I hear about is stores suffering, lack of help because of Covid and Global and Regional dumping more and more on our plates. When does it get better?

In our store the Shoppers have to help stock/front in all departments if they don't have a shop to do. If they get caught wasting time, hiding, walking around etc. they get in trouble. When they first started they tried to get out of helping but we got rid of the lazy ones and now they just automatically spread out and help now.

The best way to get rid of TMs is to over work so they quit. Company doesn't have to pay unemployment if they don't have to fire. Sounds like Corporate is transitioning to a different way of doing business and needs to downsize the the number of employees. You all think you're so important and needed. Not so sure that's true. Time will reveal the plan. What you are going through with the workload is what the older TMs experienced. Look around are there still the same number of older workers in your stores? Worked them so hard.....working you so hard too.

The store can look terrible if the extra income is just because of prime. Why spend a little more money if it isn't doing anything to increase profit? If you think your happiness matters you are out of your mind. Your contribution in the work that you do is minimal even if you are the best TM in the store.

We're doing 100k more a week in our dept than last year with fewer people...lol....prioritization is all we have...and it ain't OTS

It’s the new way of running stores and managing team member counts. You won’t get help until new stores get hired up even if you’re doing more business than they will. Gotta wait ok everyone else to be ok before you get help.

Try doing 60 to 70k more a week than you did last year while down team members and losing more.

Then have to execute everything new coming down and stay on top of your dept
