I prefer not to share my function. And I don't think my team was special, just right sized. We are sparsely staffed, heavy workload already. One position was changed to a new role. One position/role was added. Another position was cut. There were changes on the team but just did not affect headcount. It seems like we are being asked to do more, and will have broader responsibilities based on what/who we now will support and small title changes. But the OJ1s are not out and we can't really tell exactly how duties have changed. Same team size updated roles/responsibilities. I just expected it to be more volatile. Any for many it was/is. Good luck to all.

What is your function and why is your team so special?

Things are strange. My function was cut by 25 percent. My team zilch. Not a single cut. Full forward with current headcount. Sometimes things are unpredictable. I am not worried at all, honestly. I am totally at ease now. If I would somehow get cut, f-it. It was meant to be, I will move on. We can't control selection decisions and we shouldn't walk the tightrope either. Chin up, chest out and eyes forward. Tomorrow approaches.

I am sure the EOI number will be much higher. I am 15 years with Chevron and I will take EOI. As far as I know, two other persons in my team will take EOI too. Chevron is great company to work with but I think it is time to call it a day.

25% cut, we will be lucky if it is that low. The numbers are meaningless without knowing the details. I predict most selections will be easy to predict: 1) If your job is needed and you are filling the position well you will keep it; 2) If your job is needed and you are sub-par your job owner will shop for you replacement; 3) If your job is not needed you join the vultures circulating to find positions in 2. The said fact of these layoffs is many very good folks get left standing simply because they were sitting in the wrong chair when the music started to play.

Nobody knows the EOI figures for three more weeks but I imagine it will be close to 1000. Anyone with any gumption at all knows this is a golden opportunity.
