Sure nothing new about ONTIC expect for the jobs we dont have. Not like it matters. We don't have the staff anymore to keep up with assembly work. Or FAB work. I saw a job that was due back in April get done Friday in Lighting. That is the norm, it the exception.

You say that Urbana is profitable, but so was Anniston. A highly profitable operation that pushed through a great amount of volume even after much of the roof collapsed during a severe storm a few years ago, but now it's being closed.

“Ontic has supported Honeywell through license agreements like this since the 1980s, and our exclusive license of aircraft windshield wipers to Ontic extends this valued partnership,” said Stevan Slijepcevic, President, Electronic Solutions, Honeywell Aerospace.

Nothing new of Honeywell licensing to Ontic.

1) Urbana has very high profit margins
2) Urbana is highly profitable

I cant claim I know one way or the other on those 2 points, but the fact is that assembly aren't assembling parts at the moment, and 2nd and 3rd shift shipping (K&N) were laid off. If I know we aren't shipping parts, and I know we aren't assembling parts even after the massive RIF, then I'm going to assume we aren't hitting revenue like what we used to. That's easily explained because of problems with Boeing pre COVID19, COVID19 reduced air travel, and have you forgotten that Urbana was basically on probation because of FAA,Boeing, and internal audits?

3) Mother HON just recently invested Millions to consolidate Urbana and Golden Valley

Yea we did. It is not going well. We've already lost contracts, and I've heard we are going to lose a couple more because we were out bid.

4) Urbana has been recently licensing non exterior lighting products such as displays. Most recently the windshield wipers are out the door. Interiors and c—pit lighting are probably next.

Wipers is gone. That went to a company called ONTIC. Interiors is going to Clearwater. Good for them.

5) Just before the C19 nightmare, they were on an extreme hiring frenzy.

They were hiring machinists for the Golden Valley project. It was supposed to be a 24/7 operation on 5 shifts. In the sh–tiest way they hired and contracted people but gave them no training. There were a broad spectrum of people hired that were really good or really not good, but you set people up for failure on a procedural level if they dont have the tools or training to do their job. They only filled up 1st shift, and they are pulling people after the RIF and hiring freeze. They pulled 2nd shift people from jobs they have been doing for 20 years to do GV work. There is like 5 people on 3rd shift. Maybe 3 on 4th shift, and nothing on 5th shift.

I dont want to lose my job, but come on. This is unprecedented times, and we lack any kind of extraordinary leadership.

Facts:
1) Urbana has very high profit margins
2) Urbana is highly profitable
3) Mother HON just recently invested Millions to consolidate Urbana and Golden Valley
4) Urbana has been recently licensing non exterior lighting products such as displays. Most recently the windshield wipers are out the door. Interiors and c—pit lighting are probably next.
5) Just before the C19 nightmare, they were on an extreme hiring frenzy.

So... it makes little sense to just shut it down. Do they have problems? Yes, but they are absolutely fixable.

Maybe some of the rumors are due to the licensing?

"Always kinda wish we would have just left Grimes alone."
How do you think the legacy people that worked for Grimes feel?
And:
Elster Group
EMS Technologies
Intelligrated
UOP
Intermec
COM DEV International
Norcross Safety Products
RAE Systems
Sperian Protection
Xtralis

Just to name a few over the last 10 years.
I'd bet most of the employees at these places wish Honeywell had just left them alone too.
Most of them are probably in the plant closure or sell off discussion.
Other M&A Victims, Feel free to add where you work(ed) to the list.

Urbana sold? Fact or fiction? Though, it makes sense to be letting go the lights business in Aero when DC was the CEO to get out of markets with too many athletes vying for the same medal.

Kinda curious about this. Wonder how profitable or not profitable lighting is.

Always kinda wish we would have just left Grimes alone. I feel like we probably didn’t do them any favors by acquiring it.
