Little harsh there.
Sharing a fact based on the service sector for HCL:
Not one HCL employee was furloughed from India.
Guatemala, Canada, and USA were furloughed with a 30% reduction
Sure there’ll be some reason stated for it but as far as optics go, doesn’t look so honest to me.
Here’s a question:
If there’s some type of government kickback to claim for Covid, and don’t think there hasn’t been applications for any in a legal or ethical way, then who’s getting that?
HCL or Xerox?
Or both?
I don’t have any trust in either company About their level of integrity

@3fcn
Xerox revenue is way down, they are trying to cut costs wherever they can
Xerox is HCL's client, they have to follow the directive of their client
HCL doesn't really care because they get paid per the contract they signed
They have asked and pleaded with Xerox to bring staff back to full time
Xerox does NOT care, work is not getting done in a timely manner and those left working are paying the price. With the reduced hours and furloughs I can tell you for the month of June they saved a whopping 75k, execs probably spend that on a shareholders lunch

Interesting to get facts on here. Thanks! So why did Xerox tell HCL to do that? They’re only hurting themselves. From friends of mine they said they weren’t given a choice, just told they were part of HCL. Sad what they’re doing to some really great people.

@2zpi
You have no idea what you are talking about
HCL did NOT order the reduction of hours
This was a direct order from Xerox
Per Xerox (who charges back the cores for HCL salaries) they said reduce the hours for all HCL employees and absolutely no overtime either for any HCL or Xerox employee
So get your facts straight before you post

@1uio - HCL is an Outsourcing Company from India. Last April many (never heard a number) Xerox employees were forced over to HCL. If you didn’t sign, you were fired. Around April or May of this year, HCL got the bright idea that they could earn more profit by instituting a 30% pay cut for all the ex Xerox employees. This was done by cutting their daily hours. Ironically this stupid idea was implemented as customers were starting to restart their businesses. So now the very people I need to help my customer are not available full time and tasks are not getting done. Great work HCL dingbats! Seems every rumour I heard about HCL is true - no compassion, no knowledge, no plan. To anyone with HCL supporting Xerox, find a way to get out. I’m sure they’re already thinking about how to cut 50% of your hours.

The Guatemala team supporting the customer issues and supporting both hardware and customer issues for Production (iGen and Prof. Color), they have all been furloughed with 30% reduction in hours and salary now for a few months
Nice to know they are still being underpaid and undervalued with this extension
I’m sure they are all still getting grilled though about not meeting their metrics
Xerox s—s so hard.
What a place.

I bet the OP meant the forced 30% pay cut. We’ve got some great On Shore HCL resources that are getting treated like dirt. These are the Xerox people that were forced over and are now paying for Xerox’s mistakes. Great work C Level Exexutives! Enjoy your bonus for this quarter because you’re running out of places to cut to maintain your bonus.

I don't think they minced any words when everyone went to HCL. It seemed very clear to me that rebadged employees were now contracted for specific terms. Not a scam, just a c-appy bandaid.

OP - I know there were only a small percentage of american hcl employees kept as subject matter experts, are you saying only 30% of who was left of that?
