Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Regarding the FYI's

No, I'm not a Troll. And you're right, I should not have reposted on this site what is already out there for y'all to read for yourselves. I was just using this platform to help folks stay on top of what was happening with the company. There is a bit of research involved and some people may not have the time, or tools needed get to the information. Your message is clear, however, and the FYI's from me will no longer appear. I was just trying to help.

Given the number of people here who are downvoting the opportunity to (at least let others) learn, it is clear why HW is doing so poorly. No wonder leadership has to be so heavy-handed. Downvote awaaaay!

@1tud Agreed. Eat the meat and spit out the bones. Just because someone's post is not helpful to you does not mean it is not helpful to someone else. I got something out of it and am watching what is happening with HW in the overall market.

No one is trying to be funny. Layoffs are serious business. FYI poster has been providing information to empower those who want to be better able to interpret market signs to estimate the likelihood of more RIFs and furloughs.

This type of information does not interest everyone, so if you don't care for it, do what an intelligent person would do and simply don't read the FYI posts.

@tny, aren't you also smart enough to "scroll on by" posts you don't want to read?

@FYI — thanks for posting the information. I never thought to read the public reports before to determine the direction of the company. As a chemical engineer, I never felt like I fit into Honeywell because for the past few years it has been advertising itself as a “software company”. Reading the reports, it says by the second quarter it has completed $500 million of the targeted $1.4 to $1.6 billion in savings. This is telling me to expect the same number of layoffs in the second half of the year as the first half to reach its target savings. Thanks to you, I have also read articles that state Honeywell is looking to buy an industrial software company. So I think it’s strategy is to cut a lot of the industrial engineers and spend the cost savings on acquiring software companies.

Please please please stop the FYI. Its annoying. I know this will likely make you continue, but I had to say it. Most are smart enough to find out what they really want to know.

"FYI-OP" has been providing some helpful analysis more recently. Acknowledged that their tone has improved since their initial round of posts, which I believe was more problematic than the content.

Though not everyone here will be interested in this approach, FYI-OP has been trying to help us understand and interpret the publically available indicators as to whether or not there are likely to be more layoffs in the near-term. I for one appreciate their effort. The goal is to help us see for ourselves how close layoffs are rather than come on here asking about it. Of course, we are free to ask such questions any time; FYI-OP has simply been providing an independent way to evaluate the risk.

What accusation? I was passing along what I thought was "objective" information. If you know your financials, or any other direction the company is heading, and you want to "stay" in it's employment or even seek future employment if you do get laid off, rif'd, quit, etc, this is good information. You would have some insight as to which direction the company is headed. Again, just trying to help. Foresight is a useful tool. Y'all take care. I'm out

I think it everybody is missing OP's point. The financial statements and news are indicative of the state of the company and the potential for further cost actions. They are just trying to help you think for yourselves.

I have a fair bit of financial sense for someone who is neither in management or finance. Public company financial documents are pretty hard to understand if you don't know what you're looking at or how to read through the obfuscation. To come on to a website like this and to start ridiculing normal lay people for not reading them is uncalled for.

This site is dedicated to assist employees that have been RIFed or so they can stay informed about upcoming layoffs and how to best deal with the consequences to themselves and their families during a very difficult period of time involving being terminated. This is not a place to post links to Honeywell marketing PR propaganda that Honeywell has provided the media and news organizations to make Honeywell look like a great company. Please just stick to providing well written insights and helpful information regarding layoffs at Honeywell in the future.

I didn't realize there were rules as to what people think should be posted here. I didn't want to read through your posts, so I didn't. Nor, did I react to them without reading. Karens will complain about anything, anywhere.
