Just wait. Farley is a Ford family kiss up. He’ll have that witch Elena promoted before you know it.

From clueless Hackett to arrogant Farley. Bill Ford and the board do not have a clue. Time to take an early retirement while I can still escape with something in my pocket.

Unless Farley takes immediate action to half the management ranks with special attention to the boot lickers and space wasters, nothing will change. As others have mentioned management levels 3 and 5 could be eliminated.
After that the 30-50 % of GSR staff (depending on area) who are space wasters and boot lickers need to be purged.

We don't ever want Hau Thai Tang unless of course you want ever US job sent to Mexico or low cost country. PD and Purchasing are a freaking mess he's so over his head.

The last name of the Jim at the top may have changed but little else will. This isn't going to be like Alan coming in and having a free hand to slay the sacred cows and change the culture. Bill is the man behind the curtain and his "strategy" (if you can call it that) is going to remain largely intact despite shaky financials and major warning signs that Ford is lagging behind its competitors. To do otherwise would mean Bill would have to admit failure in leading the company – again. That's not going to happen anytime soon, so you can expect more of the same.

From the posts looks like people Fear the Farley.

Ford family control may be the root cause. Elena Ford seemed to many like she had been badly burnt as a young woman.

Dont think Farley will be any better than Hackett. In the current state we need a leader who can hear the truth/facts and act accordingly. With Farley’s temper people are going to be dancing as fast as they can and telling him what he wants to hear.

Hau Thai Tang imo would be way over his head. Nice guy and truthfully is okay at best where he is at.

Has a problem taking care of his neighbors out there in the burbs - literally. He had a chance to make some changes at the top of DTO during SRD and whiffed.

Stock is up $0.10. The news is having a huge impact!

I think I still own around $67 worth of Ford stock - I'm rich! (dumped it over 10 years ago).

Ford is like a sports team that changes the coach every few years. You can't get any positive momentum doing this. So now you go from a riddle speaking/hand waving guy to a crazed/smartest person in the room personality?

Keep your heads up guys - the next couple years are going to be brutal as the virus changes the way people do everything.

Another Ford Family political hire. Hau Thai Tang would have been a much more qualified and logical hire given his product experience and success. A marketing guy who really doesn't understand the nuts and bolts of the auto business is not going to be successful given the dark period the entire industry seems to be headed towards.

Tallest midget in the management ranks. Another Ford decision that will not pay dividends. Who announces push back of F-150 launch?

Did you guys notice Jim and Bills faces when Farley was struggling to describe what type of leader he will be lol?

Mixed emotions
Certainly glad to see the train wreck depart.
The replacement is not ideal. He swings between cloying manipulation and a volatile tantrums when manipulation fails.

The only reason he was successful in Europe was because Barb Samardzich translated his ramblings into real strategy and direction. Can’t believe the company is now led by him.

Jim made his money, and knows he can't milk the dying cow anymore.
This is the pattern. The big players jump off the ship before the whole thing goes down. They'll always take care of themselves.

@cyl+16hAEyh4 Farley got the job because he knows how to talk to the Family and make them feel important. Its going to be more of the same. I know people who had to report up to Farley and said it was a nightmare. They never know what to expect because he could throw a temper tantrum at the drop of a hat if things came up that he didn't like.

Okay now that we have the "story". What's the real story...................

I worked with Farley. He can't stick to an agenda, had troubles making decisions on time, and created an environment full of fear. He shows a lot of anger.

He promoted Elena Ford. She seemed to worship executives and wasn't very capable. She liked that people feared Farley.

Love the Jimmy:

George: " That guy was amazing, he could dunk and he was my height...What

was his name again?"

Jerry: "Jimmy"

George: "Jimmy, right."

Jerry: "I dunno how you could forget . He kept reffering to himself in the

third person.

"Jimmy's under the boards. Jimmy's in the open. Jimmy makes the shot."

George: "Ah! your just mad 'cause we beat ya."

Would have been much better for F had the date been October 1, 2018. Too much damage done now and just another jimmy coming in to keep things “on course”. Good luck!
