Why would corporate direct management to remove the numbers that are on the poles above the registers? Oh and another direction is all associates are to zip their vests up????????????????????

The same reason why they make any other ridiculous new rules like "make sure the middle steel is full", "we don't use pallet skirts anymore" , the gems just keep on coming!
They should force people to wear vests though. I don't think anyone in our fresh departments (bakery/produce/deli/freezer/cooler) wear vests. I was walking by produce the other day and was asked a question by a member. He was like I can't find anyone over here can I ask you something? I said you sure can! After I answered him I look over and there's the produce associate looking like a customer just hanging out.
Really? Wow 'zip up your vest'. The audacity of management! I can't believe they would place such hardships on you. I would not stand for it. Keep those vests unzipped and show management who the boss really is.
Half the people in my club didn't even wear vests on purpose so they wouldn't get bothered by members! So you can't zip them up if you're not told by a manager to wear one, there the special people that also hide in the back & play on there phones and get away with the hour lunches and breaks sometimes...

Well as a liberal progressive, I don't want people assuming my number based on what register my patriarchal supervisor places me to work.
And I love that people have to zip their vests up. Some of us are stomachly/chestly challenged and I don't think it's right for a few people to flaunt their healthy bodies in front of the rest of us with their vests flapping in the wind.

so to the person who said when you go cashier less you don't need register numbers. that makes no sense since our club is hiring front end people like crazy.
In my year at Sams Club I have not once zipped up my vest and haven’t been told to by anyone in management that I had to. Even during HO visits I’ve never had a word said to me about zipping up my vest
Probably to cover the t shirts that some associates feel are appropriate for work, or to cover a little to much cleavage being exposed.
