Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Left after 28 years

I was a 28 year associate, left the company and Iv not at all regretted it for a minute, for the most part it was a good job in the beginning. The last 5 years was going down hill fast , been gone 2 years and I wish I’d left 20 years ago , as far a pay I make more after 2 years then I did in 28 with the club , not Sams clubs fault it was mine for not having the courage to leave

And getting all the long term associates to leave was exactly home offices’s plan ! Apparently it’s working . I’m not giving them the satisfaction!

I left after 24 years & yes it went down hill I would say in my club the last 3 years, & I really saw it when I moved to the sales floor after being isolated in the Bakery were you were in your own world. Instead of going to part time I just retired tired of the dept. manager being a jerk ,just had enough. Good for you for getting out and to everyone else thinking about it ,just have other plans in place first unless you are old enough to retire like me .

I left after 19 years. Other companies know how hard you have to work at sams club. If you can survive that. You can survive anything they throw at you. Usually you can out pace anyone at your new job. The grass is greener on the other side and a heck of a lot less stressful.

Isn't it a great feeling to leave that place?! I did the same after 25+ years...and so happy I did! I do regret not leaving a few years earlier when it started turning to sh**. I strongly believe that some - especially rather large females - were hired to run those that actually knew what they were doing into the ground.

Congrats! I did the same. It is shameful the way this place treats its associates.

There's another world out there people! You don't have to stay and be treated like shyte!

Are you working anywhere else if I may ask. I desire to get out and I am a long term associate as well. I agree, the company has gotten terrible. I want to make the leap, but I want it to be the right move first
