Some of these associates loved to open but you put them on some days closing the excuses come out from left to right and then they start calling out on you if team leads can close you can too plain and simple.

I disagree. Team leads know what they’re getting into when they apply for a team lead position which includes being there for opening and closing shifts. If you’re going to make someone under you work a shift other than the one they prefer, clear it with them first. Remember we work to live, not the other way around
