We were told in earlier posts we should expect 6% or 10k layoffs to happen incrementally across the month of August...on Thursdays. I'd say it is way too quiet today for that to be true. A good sign hopefully that there are fewer than anticipated.

maybe this will change things. https://finance.yahoo.com/news/analysts-estimate-dell-technologies-dell-163004457.html
I take it the 6% theory was a bust.
That is old news now. Welcome to the party.

6% is hardly anything at Dell. Still a lot of Managements, Teams that can be consolidated. A probable number should be around 30 to 35% Globally
Have you ever been laid off? I have! It’s hard not to take it personally. The bottom line is it’s a numbers game. Have you been there a long time, probably overpaid for the roll you’re in? At a higher individual contributor level? Always a target! One highly paid person gone is better than two less paid team members. The work still has to get done. Best of luck to everyone. If it’s you, try and see the silver lining. Could be the best thing ever for you. And hopefully you have cash in savings. I know I did when it happened to me in 2009, not at Dell.
They arent on Thursdays. They happen as the timing happens. No one has a set day
so layoffs will be on thursdays ?
Of course it's quiet, what did you expect Dell to announce layoffs? Nope, they'll catch you when you least expect it. Dell/EMC s—s.
There is a lot going this week here. they got it yesterday
