Failed at numerous positions but has protection from his high-flying pal who he wants to be, a bit like his wife. Nepotism much, please get someone from VP level to look into this and it would explain a lot about the inner workings of sales and engineering. Or you could just ask hr to speak with people who work for him and engineers who were placed there about the incompetent talker. Nah, that won't happen as its a club to protect each other. So happy I left before this went down but don't despair, life after gateshead goes on but with less listening to nonsense and going home deflated. Better on the outside, unless you live at Stanley. Then your fu##ed. Club still open though and racing on daily.

Mallet is no better than previous incumbents. If he can’t work out that the problem of running NOV Gateshead requires getting rid of the weak clueless management team. Getting rid of people who are more concerned about personal gain and blaming others than actually solving problems.
We have had numerous men at the top. All failed!!!!! What’s the consistent in this??? The same middle management structure reporting in. Wake up and smell the coffee Mallet or the team between shop floor and you are gonna have you out the door another failure notched up.
The section leader you mention is to be defended, he tries, it is Preston and such above who dump all the work on him and leave him with the consequences, they are to blame as well as a weak management who can see this but don’t do anything about it, I hoped for better with mallet but he is never failing to disappoint , hides in his office, never on the floor and listens to ladder climbing planners and toilet cleaner/Qc manager

Everything is a problem. Nothing goes through the system without some form of micro management. Even the simplest ex stock item needs some form of micro management

I’m confused over this negativity as i work in the paintshop and I’d say we’re the most productive and hard working section in the factory !
I liked the sales lad that resigned. Would always make an effort to talk to us on the floor. He was honest and connected well. No agenda.
Can’t say the same for any other office staff, they have a reason to walk the floor.

Last post was on the money about supervision but way off about managers. They have been moved around constantly and produced the same results, it needs changing from the top not removing shop floor people. Cost savings also...... How about stopping there bonus every February, the shares they get at Christmas or stopping the medical at around £550 a pop for each manager. Why is there health more important than machine guys who no longer have the option to pay for this themselves. Whole thing stinks.
This is just a shame, Anson was a great place to work. Old school but brilliant. Keep out the way of Big George and you had no hassle. Engineering were good and would help you out other than the Scottish fella who was a bit arrogant. big m, Bill J, tattoo all of them great craic. Looks like the US have done you over along with nepotism that has always been there but it was the Tanfield and Stanley craic. All mates but it looks to be on the way out. Hmmm. Is this the guy who has had 3 or 4 mangers jobs and failed them all? Keeps being moved and has no impact but moved because of his buddy not telling the truth to upper management ? It's a shop floor story but surely has wings now. Likes to poke his nose in other departments business but his sales team don't sell? Even his worst salesman resigned because he had better offer. Could not make that sh– show up but don't worry, he will be away up the coast with the oracle. Buckle up boys as these will have it shut before Christmas, buy everyone a pint in Stanley club on the 22nd December if I am incorrect.

Ha ha. Gateshead has no work but sure the sales manager can spin that somehow just before a new structure is announced and he works for his caravan buddy again. Someone seriously needs to look at how close he is to a director based in this facility. Everyone can see it other than those based up the road or the US. Embarrassing would be an understatement.
