Subsidized COBRA vs Retirement Medical

Why would one not elect to take subsidized COBRA for 12 months if EOI is accepted before enrolling in the retirement medical at the end of the 12 month COBRA coverage? Isn’t it much less expensive?

you're correct, the sub/cobra benefit is same as active employee except for dental, thus no brainer to take. Exception might be if married and spouse has better health plan for family outside of chevron.
