Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

IHX solicitation

In IHX jobs are becoming fewer so we are sent to jobs where a tech has completed a job earlier in the day or the order was cancelled. That’s solicitation. Do we have the right to do so? No tech is there and we are literally going there hours later pushing phones on people. I didn’t think AT&T had a license for Soliciting.

They can as long as the appointment was scheduled for that day or calling within the allowed time frame pending DNC status. Most leaderships have gained permission from local government to verify this. This is partly why you offer a white-glove service for the customer. Doing this correctly is crucial for the success of the channel or thousands would be looking for new positions. If you feel you are doing something unethical simply call HR and they can advise you.

“Stop asking logical questions. Chip said it’s ok so it’s ok. We aren’t soliciting because the customer knew a tech was coming. Now hit your gross add and entertainment numbers or you’ll be on a PIP. Oh, and stop looking at TheLayoff. K thanks bye”

The problem with IHX, that T doesn’t realize or cares for is that they are sending employees to “ solicite” in areas where that is against the law period. In some counties you need to place a “no soliciting “ sign on your front door. But even then,i have personally seen IHX knock on those doors. IHX is a walking lawsuit waiting to blow up in Ts face.

According to the IHX dispatch playbook the rule is you can go/call up to “48 business hours” after the tech dispatch.

It’s either hit your numbers or be fired or at least be harassed to no ends until you cave in and quit

Why wouldn’t T have a license, a lot of businesses have been going door to door for years! It’s an old school approach that even Milkmen used to sale door to door! A very effective technique used by companies for decades! Let’s see if it can be successful in the technology age!
