Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Cobra Coverage

I took early EOI and my last day on the payroll was 7/10. I haven't received my Cobra paperwork yet. I believe they have 44 days to send it. Any others out there in the same boat?

You should call COBRA. Something is wrong. Mine was within a few days after my Release was signed or July 10 final day.

@7xzd, what post 65 benefits if you’ve been laid off? Once you’re 65, you are eligible for a Medicare Advantage healthcare policy. I suppose you can go directly into the post 65 Chevron Retiree Medical Plan if you want to, but do check first to see if using the COBRA coverage is a better deal for you. If you are 65 or older when you get laid off, make sure everyone is aware of your age before committing to one way or the other.

Once the 60 day WARN period is up or slightly before then, you’ll receive paperwork or an email link to follow to complete the application for COBRA through the third party handler, ADP out of Alpharetta, GA. They are pretty good, but remember they are bound to be very busy because of Covid and processing delays are likely take place. Many other people are unemployed around the country. Follow instructions carefully, keep meticulous notes and most importantly, jump on the paperwork ASAP. Don’t procrastinate.

call them as noted, but you can log in and build account setup and payments. I learned hard way even though amounts due not until 9/1, your regular insurance goes 'inactive' if a August payment isn't made.

I received mine in late July. Well-explained, unlike most of the EOI/severance options. Call the COBRA number 877-292-6272 if you haven’t received it by now.
