Major cuts in 6-8 weeks at WM

More bloodletting at WM is imminent.

Richard Tom’s org.

Currently around 1000 managers and 5000 direct reports.

They want things to be lore lean.

First they came for the Communists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Communist

Then they came for the Socialists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Socialist

Then they came for the trade unionists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a trade unionist

Then they came for the managers
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a crying, emotional, manager

Then they came for the Jews
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Jew

Then they came for me
And there was no one left
To speak out for me

In 2014, DTV had 21 million customers and the best NPS in the industry. A tough industry.

Then AT&T came along...along with it’s cancerous, entitled employee base, full of behind the curve losers that think programming is using a formula in Excel. And all the DTV’ers with talent and skill left for much greener pastures.

And now...Warner will bear witness to the power and beauty of the AT&T Midas touch. Best of luck!

“The folks at Warner are finally getting a taste of what the deathstar is all about. I feel bad for those guys, because it was only about 4 years ago that we DTV folks started to learn for ourselves.”

Oh dear sweet baby Jesus can we please amputate this cancerous DTV leg so we can stop reading these id–tic posts from delusional DTV-tards.

Big shot comment from someone who’s part of a dead, irrelevant technology and product.

WM employee here (from Xandr). For those asking Richard Tom is the Cto here. These cuts will be in the Warner tech org rather than the content/creative side. No info other than what was already posted, pain is coming in two months.

What is "Richard Tom’s org" and why do all AT&T people say who they work for but not WHAT they do? That's a sign that there can be a lot of cutting of dead wood at T.

The folks at Warner are finally getting a taste of what the deathstar is all about. I feel bad for those guys, because it was only about 4 years ago that we DTV folks started to learn for ourselves.

The sad part is that it doesn't ever get better. The T incompetence gets worse, the toxic cult-like culture gets worse, the bureaocracy and inertia gets worse, the top executives get worse, the strategies and growth plans get worse, the benefits get worse, and the slavish devotion to corporate raiders and focus on shareholders at the expense of both employees and customers gets worse. And there will always be continuous layoffs.

Welcome to AT&T, Warner folks. Your lives just all got a lot worse.

Does this affect people in El Segundo at all? I know they were moved under WM late last year (following a round of layoffs, of course).
