Thread regarding Pioneer Natural Resources Co. layoffs

Scott has got to get in right this time

Scott Sheffield has got to get it right this time, or his larger than life statue holding the book of life in the MCO's "GARDEN OF EDEN" will go the way of the founders father's statues, bagged, tagged and disposed. I suspect he will overcut 25%-30%, and then if oil improves he can build back. But Pioneer as a going business concern and employee morale will never survive another layoff after this one, it will be game over. The thinning should start in the Corp Offices, to many EVP's that started in the mail room, to many VP, to many directors, directors reporting to directors, each department will be given a death count quota, the names will flow up to the VPs for approval. Get it right this time or it will be SCOTT WHO.

If you are heir to the midland daycare, I mean "throne" you too can have the world be your oyster and not really earn it as well as have pioneer pay for your school. Then you can have inept reports that don't know how to be real "Insert their job titles here". Nepotism leads to false respect.

I guess I should qualify my mail room comment, many good people used it as a springboard to get into PNR operations and are still there. One in particular spoke to their mail room humble experience each time they speak at employee events, earnings calls, Christmas parties, Qtrly. PNR meetings and........ and told the yarn about starting in the mail room and moving upwards into the carpeted office and corner offices in LCO, maybe a future COB, COO, CFO, CEO. Last time I checked a resume for mail room it was ability to lick stamps and envelopes, and minimize paper cuts. If you were a VP wanta-be the ability just to lick up, just be careful where or whom you lick so you don't catch Covid-19 or something worse. A comment about the mail room in LCO back in 1997s, mail was delivered by cart to your office. As a side benefit one could purchase an array of recreational medications to get you through the day off the mail cart. That ended when B. B. & L. P. figured it out and put a stop to it. I never partook of that benefit off the mail card, code name for the cart was "WOBBLY WHEELS" because you could hear it rolling down the hall. Those are the bygone days

Furthermore- started off in the mailroom? Nothing wrong with that. The mailroom guys do their job better than 85% of the rest of you on this site.

What a joke. Scott has nothing to prove to anyone. And the fact that you think this is about him making a name for himself shows how out of touch you are. Get off layoffs.com and do your job/get a life. Side note: if you are on a lay-off site, "anonymously trolling" (how brave!!!) proposing who should be laid off by using the term "jerk circle".... you're the only jerk in the circle.

Barely enough staff for 5 fleets. 5th fleet is on the schedule.

@yqh completions is under staffed. I would look at SPFD closely, special projects what not - a huge jerk circle.

Time to cut dead wood. Lots of dead wood in completions. Enough to heat the world through winter.
