Calling all merchandisers, produce associates, maintenance associates. What is so hard about the company rolling out a statement saying “We are next in pay evaluation” they left us high and dry.

I agree just give the raise to everyone and stop this mess. And the ones that been there a long time give them the 15 plus a couple more. This is a way to get rid of older people. So wrong and I hear merchandisers can't apply for the front end jobs. We have a turn over with cashiers cause these people are young and truly believe they are entitled. They think they can come in be cashier for 3 mo and move up to supervisor position and it is happening. Especially if they are friends managers or other cos friends. Don't matter how much more you are qualified than them.
Just get one of the full time jobs with more pay. Honestly, I don't know why anyone stays in a low paying spot. There's lots of higher paying jobs at Sam's now.
I questioned the store manager today regarding "front end raises'. He confirmed that it was true. Not only are raises being given, but there will be FT positions added. He said that cashiers have the highest turnover and if they get paid more, then perhaps the company can retain them. What a crock. What about the ones who have years in, step up and help the floundering front end? I told him that this was a slap in the face to many of our valuable associates. Perhaps if they took a bit more care and hired quality workers and people who have work ethics, then maybe, just maybe people would stay. I am very disillusioned with Sam's/Walmart. Luckily for me I have another source of income and the money I make at my job I use to help my family. I realize that people need to make a living wage but this is just not fair to the merchandisers/maintenance/etc.
