Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

When does DTV get axed

Axe it now, ridiculous to try and sale a service that is outdated. Let’s start a streaming service that is limited streams expensive has a contract and 2 year price increase. This is 1995 television tactics. A lot of good people will lose employment just like digital life. Stop the madness get out now with this entertainment sharped. It’s running good folks off and the stress of pushing a product is crazy. We sale Honda’s while other sale Mercedes at the same price smh when does it end with DYV

Seems to me you're the stupid one. The revenue from DTV is exactly why Randall bought it. While subscribers are leaving in droves, largely due to terrible customer service, the revenue DTV provides is incredibly valuable to AT&T right now.

Of course, given your comments here, it's clear you're don't know much about anything, including balance sheets.

Since DTV and Mobility are keeping the company afloat, I would say it will be awhile...

DTV is a declining business - same is true for legacy Cable - yes they have millions of customers - but losing 1M subs per quarter is like a Titanic full of people sinking .... it is sad but this is the reality of what we are facing.

We could save a lot $$$ by axing the Design Studio for ATT TV. What r they even doing now and the services are losing subs right & left. We should go all in for HBO Max and CUT THE FAT.

I have direct TV and hate it. Its clunky , slow, akward to use, and shows ATT commercials anytime I set the clicker down for 5 seconds. I keep it because its cheap. No other reason. I had Comast and loved it , I had Uverse and loved it. I signed up for direct tv because of the low price , excpecting to get the same quality experience . Not happening ! Why would management give up on a good product in Uverse and spend us into debt buying a poor product ?? How come heads dont roll for these gigantic blunders !

What do you mean outdated?Elon Musk and Bezos putting 60 at a time in outer space for global internet! Please don’t be so angry about satellite service,it’s not outdated at all! The Directv service is just been mismanaged since it was bought out and will succeed, just look at Dish Network as an example, they are still in business taking in the dough just like Directv!Slow down as we don’t wanna have personal robots yet like the Jetsons.

@roz, you are absolutely right, I’m in retail and see this every day

Most customers probably have no clue they’re even being billed for ATT TV. In Retail- the managers and reps tell customers “this comes with your plan”, they throw a FAN discount on to offset the wireless bill, use the credit card used to pay taxes for phones to set up the TV account, and boom..they’re applauded as super sales people. Nothing new here

AT&T TV subs 750,000
YouTube TV subs 2 mil
1995 technology DirecTV subs 16.5 mil

But let's get rid of it? Higher revenue stream? Stupid post by the OP.

The comments on that article are really telling. What do you even say to that? What's the excuse?

This is a great example of why Directv is in the position it is. AT&T people thought they were smarter and knew more than anyone else about entertainment, so they let all of the people go who had vision and experience and replaced them with people exactly like this. Everyone knows that this is the end product of people who worked for a government pampered utility. Comments on this article say it all.

OP, are you talking about DIRECTV or AT&T TV?

It was hard to tell because you’re such a lousy writer.

How despicable, disingenuous, disrespectful, disoriented, disappointing, discouraging, discriminating, dissatisfying, distressful, disheartening, and completely dillusional can senior management be!
