Has been happening for years and will intensify. Do an intranet search for TMTS and HW3, there are enough unsecured documents out there to get the idea

The key difference between the IT outsourcing and the GBC/TC model is EM is looking for the best and brightest from those locations (like how we used to do in the US) versus bidding IT out to the lowest cost body shop.

Instead of complaining here against KLTC, focus on raising your game and skills. That will help you and the company. Win-win!

I have worked with a number of kltc folks remotely and met few on assignment in the US. They're generally very impressive and not much different than US new hires. The ones on assignment particularly more so. I hear it's really competitive there. For how much these folks cost to the company compared to US hired it's a no brainer why upper management is looking more and more that way.

Refineries are full of kltc engineers being trained up. Dozens and dozens. High frequency monitoring is the future

Having worked at 2 GBCS already, I can tell you that there is some fantastically talented and driven individuals who compete globally at CL26 assessment pools and above... yes it is cheaper but typically the people are very good. If someone in KL costs $50k, high performing and driven to succeed... why would you pay $200k in the US or Europe, doesn’t make sense.

If you move a group of 100 to KL on those economics you save $15m/year..

You bet it is happening. Many of the campus jobs will go there and also a large number of site support jobs too. There will be a skeleton staff of high ranked folks left in campus, sites ...and a few will go to KL as DTLS to train the local workforce. The outsourcing has happened in every single company in the industry and EM is no different...it just took a bit longer for the penny to drop. Previous management used to think of EMRE as one of the key differentiators between EM and the competition with investment in in-house technical expertise. However, with poor company performance, lousy t/a performance and frankly shocking projects performance....it looks like management has finally realised that EMRE is part of the problem. They may be right...although I doubt management would score very highly on performance either.

So heard from the grape vine. 80% of engineering and projects will be done out of KLTC within 10 years.

Sell Dallas and Houston Campus. Run company from KLTC. Would be huge efficiency. Bet executive team would love to move there.

I don’t know about KLTC specifically, but in EMIT over the last few years it’s been clear to me that there is a lot of ambition in the GBCs - Curitiba, Budapest, and Bangkok around skills development. Not all of the employees are great, but a lot of them are. They also have supervisors and managers that are working to develop and grow their own people. The US based employees should rightly be worried if they are not doing the same, and it does seem like a lot of US based supervisors and managers don’t do the same for their people and are instead only out for their own careers.

KLTC payroll if 1/5 of a US employee. Are we saying that their productivity is likewise 1/5?

You do the math.

Isn’t that the whole point of the TC’s? They call it “salary arbitrage” or something like that
