Whatever you're calling the program, CISCO very publicly called it an EARLY RETIREMENT program in last week's earnings report.

Here's the direct quote: "In the first quarter of fiscal 2021, we initiated a restructuring plan, which includes a voluntary early retirement program"

You think they didn't expect this reaction to the ER? It is part of the plan. The LR will be very poor.

We know because it's an epic failure. Given the previous precedent, and the internal hype, the expectation was already set high. Mismanagement of expectations on a grand scale, especially when the HR and Sales Leadership treated it as a 'Great Deal'.

Agree, they should have kept more people happy to avoid a possible PR nightmare. Evidently WE are not the smart ones. Why even bother if it is only going to be a slap in the face?
