The real goal is to replace higher paid employees with younger ones to save money. (and they place the kids in very tough situations, 20 somethings dealing with 40,50 yr old managers and directors). It is not fair to the young employees (that will be very good after experience) or the customers.
They only do it in countries they are allow to (aka US)
They replace Grade 10, 111 with Grade 8, and Red Badge (aka Outsource as much as possible)
The Exec level and bloated middle management still get paid great.
LR is Limited Restructuring. Basically meant to restructure the organization to meet the business needs and reality.
