Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Riding it down

How much longer do you think someone can hang around and slack before everyone has to actually do work? I mean ibm is still around.

Some of us actually do a lot of work at Cisco as an engineer on TAC.

I left Cisco voluntarily relatively recently. I do have to say I agree with the sentiments of OP. I saw lots of slacking, lots of dead wood. People seemed skillful at dodging work and trying to push things off to other groups. I also saw a culture that is very counter to the glossy brochure version that Cisco tries to present.

Slackers are safe because of groupism or their godfather is protecting them.

Ive worked more in a week than I did in two years at cisco, quite the wake up call, I actually have to hire someone to do my lawn and work on my porsches, very concerning having accountability and not just BSing your leadership. Miss the days of mall walking and painting the house. but with 80% pay, thats still good money for 10% work.
