Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

Slow to pay severance package

This week, I spoke to Honeywell ex-coworker and friend who was laid off in May 2020. He HAS NOT received any severance money to date. I was under the impression HON continued to pay every 2 weeks until they've met their financial obligation to laid off workers? I knew Honeywell slow paid their suppliers but didn't realize they also slow paid sevaeranced workers, but I shouldn't be surprised.
A question for those laid off from Honeywell, what's been your experince with severance pay?

Arizona Folks......not sure if this has been stated somewhere else, but if you were laid off, be sure to file unemployment weekly even if you're receiving a severance. HON made a deal with the state back in 2014 to allow the folks laid off to receive both unemployment $$ and severance at the same time. You may have to call DES directly, which I won't lie can take 1-2 hours on hold, but it will be well worth your time. I was previously filing weekly but stating I had severance, turns out HON folks don't need to include their severance, so be sure to put $0 earned each week. They even gave me back pay including the federal $600/week through July, then the $300/week beginning in August. Good luck!

Your friend is not giving you the whole story...must have not filed paperwork on time or something else if indeed eligible to receive severance.
Everyone I know has received it on time, no 2 month delays. The friend needs to contact HR immediately to understand what is going on instead of complaining to friends.

Got laid off in Jan and collected until May without missing a check every 2 weeks.

I have been getting mine without any break in pay. It’s nice to be getting paid through the rest of the year not working at that hell hole.

I signed my severance agreement only a couple of days before it was due (40 or 50 days after my last day - cant remember). I then received all severance pay at the end of that week.
Reach out to your friend and make sure he gets in touch with HR, it seems like something went wrong with his paperwork.

I was direct and was paid out the accrued vacation I had left. Nothing suspicious here. I had 58 days to sign the severance agreement. I recieved it the end of July and signed it that day. I was told I had 58 days to sign, but, severance did not start until it was signed and you would be paid back pay up to that time after you signed it.

I only had 4 weeks coming to me. Got it all; the toming and amounts seemed erratic, but I was riffed in the middle of a pay period. Made things weird when applying for unemployment.

@whi - ZJN's experience is not suspicious. He/she is referring to grandfathered vacation, not the normal "unlimited" annual vacation. I also received my grandfathered vacation the same day that I separated from Honeywell.

@whi non exempt (hourly) people still accrue vacation time. Balance is paid lump sum upon separation.

Did they sign their separation agreement in a timely manner? If not, severance will be delayed.

I was layed off July 24th. I received all pay and vacation pay that day. I then received my first severance check last Friday as expected. They need to reach out to the HR mail address we were given . I have several times and they responded by the next day. I was employed at the Olathe Cedar Creek facility.
