If I accept the 20% pay reduction (6, 9 or 12 months voluntary period) and I am LR’d afterwards will my LR package be based on my original salary or reduced salary based on 20% pay reduction ?
So many choices - Thanks Fran !

Anyone that brings an outside-in view at Cisco is sidelined.
["I guess if enough took the 20% cut, the LR could be avoided."] Let's all pinky swear to take it! That'll show 'em! Whhaaaa? All 70,000 chose 80%? Ha! I'm in, let's all agree!
Why doesn't Cisco make hard decisions when the product failures are staring at it for years? Webex Teams is a disaster. It should have been shut down at least 3 years ago. I just don't think they have any outside-in view of their products. During Covid, conf room business has zero customers. Webex has shown it has saturated and did practically nothing to stock price. Only people needed are essential workers to keep the services running, fix bugs and do maintenance work. Current teams have proven beyond a doubt they can't add any value. Their ideas, plans, and execution for sure are adding thousands of features but not adding any monetary benefits to the company.
Let everyone of them go. Until Cisco dares to clean to this extent, do not expect anything to change.
Believe me, there are lots of worse managers in BTT, Bacebook, etc.

Even 100 more LRs cant save Cisco. It has the worst people managers. They are unemployable outside. They mastered navigating Cisco "systems" and bring zero value to the table. Lay offs have historically focussed on lowest and highest rung. The middle layer has been the least impacted. Most of it should go first.
Really
It sounds like the equivalent of being placed on "Double Secret Probation", as detailed in the college movie classic "Animal House".
So what is the point of accepting a voluntary 20% pay reduction ?
Maybe there is a % chance that if you take the 20% cut you may not be LR’d ?
You can still be LRd - the programs are independent. LR separation package would be based on your original salary for the quick exit and leave of absence options. Might be based on the 80% for stay & search option.
