All EOI requests are usually approved, else the company will risk keeping a very unhappy and unproductive employee on its payroll. If the company really wants you to stay after you elect to EOI, it’s likely you’d stay if they adequately compensated you to do so, right?

Very rare a EOI is not accepted in R4 and those folks have already had discussions with management about the reasons and future accommodations (two individuals I know of out of what 10,000 plus).

@uew

What crime is being committed?

It is not a crime to work for 2 people at one time. I think as long as you can get your work done, your fine. You act as if he is some outlaw.

take the other company job offer, , take EOI , if you get selected give 2 weeks notice! the day you are notified , the chances of not getting EOI are very very remote\

I'm working another job from home , while still "working" for Chevron shhhhhhh- I'm taking EOI

Just apply for jobs you will never get, like aviation pilot or ship captain, you will not be selected and get the sevrence!

Simply stipulate that your job acceptance with the new company is conditional on your being offered EOI. If not, they make you whole if you have to quit. Easy Peasy.

@wuv

Are you close with your Boss? If you are you might give him a heads up and let him know your plans. That way he might be able help you to start during the redeployment period.

I would say 85% of cVX bosses want what is best for you, but I say that with caution.... there are a few I’d!ots out there

Thank you. Reason for asking is that I have a job offer now from another company which i want to accept. If i EOI and not get approved there could be some legal complications with the other company.

In some areas, there is no requirement to apply to any jobs at all if you EOI, so it’s pretty much guaranteed at this point if you’ve been told that.

No, they are not guaranteed but you would have to be a real unicorn for them not to accept it. You would need to have some type of special skill that they just cannot afford to lose and if you were that valuable to them your probably underpaid now and can demand more now.

That is why they offer it, they want to encourage those who are on the fence to move forward with quitting or retiring.
