Who are the worst people to work for in CTC?

Who are the worst people to work for in CTC? I’m trying to avoid posting in to a nightmare role in Round 4, but I’m early in my career and don’t know who the big bads really are. Everyone always says the right things when you speak to them, and everyone else is scared to speak the truth.

The outgoing ETC head is completely incompetent and pretty much stalled the org during his time in the chair. He should inherit the RK memorial chair in value destruction.

The worst manager in ETC is the outgoing FE manager. That guy was completely useless. 2nd time he has been fired in 5 years.

There will always be "good" and "bad" supervisors. Keep in mind that what makes someone good (or bad) depends on the direct reports interpretation about what they feel are important qualities about the relationship. There maybe a variation of what is important. In some cases, some may value flexibility about work completion vs development vs psg/pay bump support. While, yes, all are important, some may feel that one is better than others. Yes, some supervisors may have a reputation of what they have a better focus on.

The biggest items I have experienced: supervisors who don't understand their direct reports requests for psg/bumps (e.g. not understanding the process due to being experienced hire and not knowing the process), not willing to put their direct reports needs at same level of their own or above, not truly/fully understanding the technical details of work completion of direct reports (e.g. because of being "experienced" hire or just not caring).

Throughout my career it seems that you will work for good and then bad. What you need to do is utilize your strengths and identify and improve your weaknesses. Most everyone you work for has something you can glean from what they know and experience. Find those and utilize them. You will always experience new supervisors and some are good and some are bad. It always seems that you always have to travel through the muck to get to better land.
