I give SAFe at Chevron 4 years max before it implodes. When they released the donut model for CTC and IT Function I thought I might Nadler my pants. It's insane. I can't believe we're paying BCG for this stuff. They're laughing their butts off at us.

Scrum “master”? Is this position truly adding value? We are talking about a guy who is pretending to sprint and have memorized of bunch of acronyms that he will soon forget when the next kool aid flavor comes in. A waste of time role, look for something more rewarding.

If you're in IT, don't bother applying to scrum master or RTE or product owner jobs. Everyone will apply to those. Apply to software engineering and data engineering. There are way more positions than people who can do the job. In your GO400, just say you know how to code. You'll get a job that way. People who are applying only to scrum master jobs are asking to be laid off. It just screams "I am not technical. please lay me off."

Stress your non-typical skills. Within IT, scrum masters are a dime a dozen, which ones have the X factor? X factor equals things like employee network leadership, deployment leadership, shared service migration leadership, etc.

Reach out to job owners? The IT Function said NO! Go to office hours with 500 people. Really caring for employees and with us through this time!!!

I had one guy who explained the process, and then proceeded to review my GO400 and continued to chat with me on Teams and email. At least somebody has a heart and not entirely following that stupidazz process

Post for your job if it still exists. Reach out to job owners. Use your networking skills to find out which jobs are truly open (i.e. new or incumbent is weak/EOIing/moving to new position). Dont waste job postings on jobs with a strong incumbent that doesnt want to move.

Call job Owners non-stop between now and deadline and yes even off work hours and see if you can find job with little to no interest from the masses. If you can get the buy-off that you're qualified then you have better chances for less competitive roles
