Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

CBD Oil

CBD oil is now legal in Texas. I’m interested in using it for medicinal properties and not for intoxication.

Would I violate any Chevron corporate policy by using CBD oil? In Texas CBD is legally required to be extracted from Hemp with a dry weight THC content less than 0.3%. I do have a concern is may trip a random d–g screening.

Thank you.

CBD is the biggest waste of time and money that the consumer has ever been tempted by.

Yes, I thought this was it until I read some of the bizarre non-layoff comments. It looks like a place full of people who don't belong to any chat or discussion groups and don't have any friends.

I heard that there is a forum on this site for layoff related discussions & topics. Does anyone know where that it?

Standard "cup / dip" tests used for randoms given to CVX employees test for the metabolite of Delta 9 THC, and should not pick up on the metabolite created by CBD.

People often only talk about "THC" when it comes to the psychoactive part of can–bis, but the part that is being tested for is actually the metabolite for delta 9 THC. There is another component of total THC called THCA, which by itself is not intoxicating but after heated, or allowed to sit over a long enough period, will convert to delta 9 THC. So yes....the CBD product you legally purchased was sourced from a hemp plant containing less than .3% delta 9 THC...but doesn't account for % makeup of THCA in the plant...when converted to delta 9 THC...can make the product as high as 7%

That said, many CBD products come in "Full Spectrum"...meaning they contain all cannabinoids like CBG, CBA, CBD THCA and Delta 9 THC. Also taking small doses of THC every day, over long periods of time can also result in an accumulation of delta 9 THC metabolites in your system that could trigger a positive d–g test.

IF you want to use CBD, it's best to use CBD Isolate...which only contains CBD, or use "Broad Spectrum" CBD, which contains all other cannabinoids, except for THCA & delta 9 THC.

Always read the lab reports for the product you're using and get from reputable vendors...since the consequences are so high.

The d–g test is only for THC, you’ll be fine if you are buying from a reputable supplier, i would go online and buy from one of the major companies that produce THC-free products. There is nothing wrong with using CBD at all but not worth the risk of using products that contain any THC if you are at all concerned about d–g testing. THC-free products are still very effective for anxiety, pain, and inflammation. If you’re in a safety sensitive/dangerous role, don’t use it before working though, it isn’t well regulated at all and even CBD on it’s own will mess up your reaction time if too much is taken.

I would understand the laws in the jurisdiction where you are working. Some have random d–g testing, and some do not. If you are in a State where random d–g testing is legal, like Texas, I'd ask a doctor how the outcome of a d–g test would look if you take CBD.

The reason why the rules are so strict is because the company is considered a federal contractor; I’m sure they would care less so long as you’re not in a safety sensitive position if the federal law was updated.

There are some THC free options out there developed by a couple of different medical doctors but they will also tell you that you won’t get the full benefit using the 100% THC free options.

You might be ok if your body metabolizes the low level of THC fast enough or if your doctor proscribed the CBD. If you’re an office worker I would say find out if the THC free options work for your issue and be prepared to switch to that a couple of weeks before returning to the office or applying for a new job externally.

Not sure why these dinosaur companies are so obsessed with weed. It will be legalized in less than 10 years, even faster if Democrats win the election. Better to put those testing resources towards something else.

I tested positive after only using CBD oil for massage. I didn't get fired but it was a royal pain in the a–. Not all CBD products are completely free of the buzz ingredients.

CDB oil itself is fine and it won’t make you fail a d–g screening test. It’s the TCP in pot that makes you high and it’s what will make you fail the test. CBD oil does not contain TCP. So knock yourself out.

??

Who knows. I remember when they made pot legal in Colorado CVX sent out an email saying even though it was legal in some states it was still against company policy and you could be disciplined if you tested positive for it. They also reminded everyone it was still against federal law (even though they looked the other way)

Having said that, Even if you did use it, it is unlikely to result in a positive test because they often don't contain high enough levels of THC for detection.
