More Forms

How’s everyone holding up? I’m drowning in forms as we just found out we need to do a OnePager. I’m too anxious to work on them for more than a short time. I’ve worked really hard the past few years but don’t feel I’m a favorite so the whole thing makes me nervous. I wish I would have done better is my feeling even though I’ve actually worked my a– off. Hard to stay motivated in these environments where you are expected to give up your life and still don’t get the ratings and promotions.

I’ve been worried this whole last month about this. Spent tons of time on it and today I finally said. “Screw it!” I don’t want to work here anymore.

We were supposed to have it uploaded by 5:00pm today. I didn’t hand it in and as soon as I see that EOI button, I’m going to hit it. I can’t handle working here any more.

I used to have the mind set that oil & gas is the best field to be in and pays better than any other industry. However, I look at both my brothers, one works in the tech industry the other in the food and beverage industry. They both do as well as I do if not better financially. It’s better to get out now than have to deal with this again every 4 or 5 years and I feel it is only going to get worse.

And all the time spent updating GTMIS is all for nothing now too.

As a retired manager I must ask, is it too much work to read the GO-400-2 fer crying out loud? It's important. Managers need to do their jobs without calling for this one-pager nonsense. Read the whole form and make your own one-pager, boss. Now I feel better.

I googled Resumes for my current title and added the word “director”. Used that for my GO4002. Turns out I’m actually a Director!!!!

They are looking to see if you will “follow” the “format” and “instructions”. That way they can separate them into two piles.

I was given a tip that might be helpful. The top part of the GO-400-2 that says: “ Significant Outside Activities...“ can be used as a 2-3 paragraph executive statement. Condense your GO-400-2 into the most impactful contributions, leaning on how you used We Lead behaviors to-

I can’t finish this because I feel so silly to be begging for my job back for the fifth time in 5 years. This process has gone on long enough. I’m ready for it to end. If I get an external offer from the interviews I’ve been doing, I’m going to smash that EOI button with a grin from ear-to-ear.

Good luck everybody. Remember how we got here, again.

This entire saga is so tiring, demoralizing and degrading. I somberly await the bleak future of it all. I feel like I am Andy Dufresne but the only difference is after I crawl through the prison sewer, a literal river of $hit, there is a huge field of deep, wet and sloppy bull$hit on the other side that never ends.

As to paperwork, CVX focuses a lot on it, yet potentially go unused. Lots of times they will go unread and simply utilize whatever algorithm that HR/TO has already put together. While this is different than PDC, the process will be no different as to leveraging the tools that CVX has used before.

Transformation is based on leaning out the OpEx, whereas PDC process is more about "caring" for employee development

Do what is asked to be done, putting a 1 pager is not a big deal, just state what you learned what you contributed and how all that impacted the business, this is now about writing a book so should be able to do it in 30 min max!

Work is only part of life, so live your life to the fullest, if you dedicate yourself to work instead of yourself, your family and loved ones then you are the one to be blamed. Chevron is just a company you hopefully work well, enjoy your work and co workers, make friends have some fun and make money to enjoy life with your family, if it is looked any other way then you will not be happy.

The one pager is like a cover letter for your 400-2. Place importance on that document, meet with the position rep and contact job owners. Motivation is down for sure but, we’re so close to the finish line. Use the form to represent yourself. If it doesn’t work out, at least you’ll know you did everything you could.

Don’t bother. No one reads them unless absolutely no one knows you. Rather than read they call around asking about you and maybe getting accurate and fair info, maybe not. So, like I said...don’t effing bother.
