Thread regarding Chevron Corp. layoffs

Using the same positiveness as Chevron

On my Calendar:
EOI -> Expression of Intensity of moving onwards
Severance payment -> Parting gift
Last day on Payroll becomes "Time to take control of my finances"
Re-deployment -> Start of next adventure
See the motivation difference?

Yes it is a challenge, but there is no alternative the only way I know of to pull myself out of a hole is to be positive, Take the required steps to reduce expenses, and make is so that I'm not in a position of hoping that everything will be okay. I always ask myself what can I really control. What can I do right now TODAY to make a difference. Well the mortgage okay, rather than being negative and seeing it as a burden turn it around, sell the house is one option , move somewhere cheaper out of state if need be. Fire up excel and do complete net worth analysis. reduce expenses , Do I really need Netflix, amazon Prime etc. run the numbers - I have done this the last 15 years even when money was good and coming in. not spending beyond my means. Can you truly ask yourself if you have indeed been proactive managing you lifestyle?

Being positive in these times is a challenge, whenever all you hear from in LT messages is "take care of yourself and family." Hard to do when you a middle class employee with a basic mortgage, family at home and worried about R4 results. Much easier to be positive when you are taking your MS Teams/WebEx call at your second home and don't have to worry about your mortgage because of your Exec Savings plan.
