Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Stock Options timing is off! Planned?

Nike band E and above employees are granted stock options annually. Eligible employees get to select 100% Stock Options, 100% RSUs or 50/50 blend. Either way, the new grant has historically been made visible on Fidelity Net Benefits website about mid-September. This year, the new grants have not yet been made available to view, which leads me to think that Nike is waiting until layoffs are done in the next 2 - 3 weeks. This is another sly move to add to the growing list of sh– Nike is doing. Tired of this company.

Yes, they just got visible today. If you got them, go accept them.

@3rvz who's entitled here? E-bands to their stock grant?

The level of envy for what other people have or might have in our society and at work, Nike, is unlike anywhere else I have even seen. It is unusual for people to feel that way unless, of course, you are suffering from some sort of mental disorder, lack confidence in yourself, and entitled little sh– with welfare mentality.

@3xhq, take a breath and reset. Let's be real here - if you're E-band and getting options/RSUs, you should have more than enough in the bank to ride out a brief stay in the ranks of the unemployed. It's hard to feel sorry for someone that should have the capability to keep a large nest egg.

Now, if you're like what I assume most E-bands are like - new Audi, giant house, vacations, maybe second home? - you probably don't have that much cash on hand. You'll have to part with some of those expensive toys. Boohoo, cry me a river. There are plenty of people at Nike - the ones who actually get things done - that are almost hand-to-mouth because of lack of COL and market adjustments.

It's not all bad, though - you've got Nike and "director" on your resume. If you're not a complete nitwit you'll land somewhere soon enough. You'll be just fine, and all of this hand-wringing about options and RSUs will be a thing of the past. So s— it up, realize how fortunate you are, and relax.

@2icr, speak for yourself. I will sympathize with everyone.

I don't think many people here are going to be sympathetic to the plight of E band employees.

@1bap I like your thinking but really doubt anyone at Nike has this foresight, or is this prudent. I imagine it's coincidence.

@1fko, less administration fees and time when retracting and terminating the awards!
