It will be a slow death, nothing dramatic.
Nothing new is built using Oracle but there's a large legacy base. Now a lot of that base would like to be somewhere else but its too much trouble. So they will put up with Oracle until the product that uses it as a backend gets decommissioned.
Look at how long Novell struggled on.

They been dumping people like no tomorrow to release the pressure and hope it stay longer before it pop.
It absolutely is building. I wouldn't be at all surprised if it pops this week.
