Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

Let them enjoy it

I don’t understand how some people can be very vindictive towards others who have gotten a pay increase. Granted some may not deserve it in YOUR opinion - but it’s obvious to the company that it is deserved. I haven’t gotten a pay increase myself, but I’m glad to see that some of my fellow employees have. I don’t know how pay increases are structured, if eventually all positions/departments will get them, but those who did aren’t to blame for how it is being determined.

Eventually everyone will be replaced. And noone will have to worry about who got a raise and who didn't. The cashiers will be first. Then the merchandisers. And then the MSS since they will be replaced by the specialists. Marketing will be gone soon as well. Assisting managers will be reduced as well.

Merchandisers work very hard, it is a lot of physical work. Not fair that we don't get a raise. We have to cover the entire floor and due to attendance issues and not properly staffed is very difficult to stock the entire club. I for one know I work very hard every single day and it upsets me when I see the MSS up front dragging around with no sense of urgency.

I have nothing against anyone who got the recent pay raises, however giving poor employees more money and opening up FT positions is not going to make an associate change their behavior. If you do not have good work ethics then I don't care how much you pay them, they will still be bad employees. And when you create a new position ( member specialist) and give it to people who have only worked for three months at Sam's, that is a slap in the face to others. In our club there were people who tried for MSS and they were passed up due to calling in and member complaints, but they got the member specialist spots. Go figure. In our club the MSS' are utilizing these people to run the front end while they disappear. I am going to sit back and enjoy the show.

Eventually you will get fed up with a 2% yearly raise. It won't even cover cost of living increases. Not to mention rising healthcare, car insurance etc....

No! If I find out anybody makes more money than me I'm going to take it as personal disrespect. And anyone who gets a pay increase before me must think they're better than me.

Your pay is my business, regardless of the fact that I am a complete stranger to you with no impact on your life or vice versa,, and I demand to know the details of your income!
