I am proud to be a nerdy hermit. Many nerdy IT folks can't even be at ease giving a presentation, so how can they be expected to be inclusive? The ironic part of this melding of inclusion and technology worjers is the truly gifted technologists are mostly nerdy hermits. Inclusion to them means little not because have issues with others, it is mostly keep to themselves because we are true nerds who are better at dealing with technology than people. Their focus is what the other person truly knows about developing the technology, not building relationships. Call it autism, spectral issues, IT geekfest; but it really is just a bunch smart introverted people that mostly keep to themselves. Old Cisco was full of herds of nerds of this mindset. Some of the most gifted people I worked with the most closely, I never actually spoke with...because we couldn't understand each other's natural language. But we had a great international team that got the job done...Team Nerd.
Sounds like the above is a thing of the past. RIP Team IT Nerd. It worked good for a long time. Now the tide has shifted.
