Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Layoff terms?

Looking for information on what terms, if any, are negotiable during one’s layoff this round. Have heard it’s boilerplate but even at VP level different packages have been given, apparently.

@8wox, it is not a week or two weeks per year across the board. It really does depend on the number of years and band per the information posted earlier. I am not entirely sure where the information provided came from though. Maybe others do.

Curious where the number of weeks pay by band information posted here came from. I am hearing much much less generous than that - I.e., two weeks per year for E bands and one for U bands. Can anyone confirm?

They really should take better care of A band employees or at least take years of service into consideration.

Definitely negotiate your package. Do not let HR tell you that you’re lucky to get what you have. Tell them you need a few days to get legal consult before signing anything. Don’t forget TE took a 500k bonus along with his disgraced exit. If you’ve been harassed or discriminated against in your tenure, find a lawyer to advise negotiations around a strategic exit. It will force them above board and you will get a fairer shake.

you can negotiate if you have an hr and er claim on file and they need to an investigation. if the investigation is not complete your end date could be extended.

OP, this has been discussed before on this forum. It is boilerplate approach and not much to negotiate. Severance depends on your seniority and band level. Look at chart below which is from a severance policy that has been in place for several years. You will also get a PTO payout which is a separate check but no sabbatical payout so make sure you take your sabbatical. Cobra - up to 3 months covered. You can file for unemployment immediately after your last day.

E and above
1 yr (seniority): 8 weeks pay
1 - 2 years: 12 weeks pay
2 - 4 years: 16 weeks pay
4 - 7 years: 20 weeks pay
7 - 10 years: 24 weeks pay
10 years - 15 years: 32 weeks pay

10 - 15 years: 24 weeks pay
15 - 20 years: 32 weeks pay
