Thread regarding AT&T layoffs

I could think of more than three, but it's a good start...

I've defended AT&T plenty of times, but it's becoming impossible to ignore some of its bigger problems. Let's review three major issues with AT&T, and why they're shaking my faith in this Dividend Aristocrat.

don't worry you have all the managers with master of computer science degrees and all the so called high performers and geniuses in their own mind that will save the company. plus just look at all the great automation they are doing like uam, patching from cms etc. they have thousands of servers that who knows what they do but they all these great automation tools running on them that lets all the masters of computer science degrees show how they can manage a ten year old solaris box that does one task. they have more tools that take up cpu usage on their servers than the applications that actually run so called business.

I never tell people I work for AT&T. I made that mistake once and never will again. Too many people hate AT&T because of lousy service, high prices for what you get, can understand maybe every third word a help desk rep tells you, tired of being lied to, etc. It's a pain in the a$$ trying to communicate with someone who only has a very basic understanding of English.
As far as the other things the OP has listed I have to completely agree. Sh-t company, too many inept managers not knowing how to manage and have no people skills whatsoever, only interested in being "boss" and never a thought to actually "leading", horrible to no career advancement opportunities - not even lateral moves, constant layoffs, horrible merit raises, not even COLA.
How can anyone with any sense of human decency recommend young people and new grads apply here?
